Fish sitter

Our fish are now under my neighbour's care. The fish took a taxi ride to just down a few houses away and now are in another loving family. I don't think I have space in the rental home for a fish tank.
The house is now 85% empty. The new owners came today to inspect the house. THey are from the PRC. Nice young couple with 8 month old daughter. The house passed inspection, of course. Somehow I don't feel sad leaving our first home here. I guess I am more excited in the building process of our house. Stay tuned. Will be doing a lot of "before-during and after" shots of the house. One look at our immediate neighbour's house, I also want to pengsan. I hope they are not going to use it as a rental property.
It's almost the kids' dinner time. Not cooking, just roast chicken & steam vege for the whole family. If want to be lazy, be healthily lazy, haimai?
Dear sis came to help move some stuff over the new house.
Movers coming on Monday to move the big items. The kids will go to school in the morning from this house and will come home to the new one on Monday! I hope Bryan is able to settle down quickly.

Speech Jitters

Today was rainy... woke up at 6am & couldn't fall asleep again. Then it started raining...... A LOT... Firstly I had to pick up Mary, the octogenarian from the neighbouring old age facility, then I had to haul 2 boxes of planned giving envelopes, and on top of that, my piano bag and my precious Yamaha Keyboard. By the time I reached the Church, the boxes and others were nice and dry but I was soaked! THere went my curls I had done in the morning. Anyway, right after the Entrance hymn, I started having gastric pains! Oh my... my face contorted everytime the wave of pains started. But the pain was temporarily overshadowed by the need to get up in front of the congregation to deliver the Finance Speech. It was nerve wrecking but it was enough to take my mind away from the pain!
Anyway, after coming home, I seeked the pain relieving, life-saving... at least for me... MILO... Yup, that did the trick. Always did.

Boxes of Crap Everywhere

Friends with babies have been kind. They will keep their diaper boxes for me. So you can imagine that I have towers of diaper boxes in the house right now. Weather's crap and unpredictable so I can't have the boxes stacked outside or in the garage. On a brighter note, I realise that somehow things I felt I needed, a month ago, doesn't seem to be so important anymore. I have given A LOT of stuff away the over last few days and there's more to give away today.

Slowly but surely

Managed to squeeze in 1 more hour of sleep, waking up at 6am, after sleeping at 9.30pm after CSI:LV. Not a holiday here in WA, so it's back to school for Caitlyn after 4 days of vegging out watching TV or playing with her Wii...

Bryan as usual, engrossed with his dinosaur play these days. Check out how he "plays" with his dino pals. He can be gruesome... at times... check out also the poor tiny dino being eaten. Bryan is able to name almost all the dinosaurs correctly... names too hard to pronounce, he just calls them "saurus".

Late to Bed, Early to Rise

I don't know why but I have not slept till past 5am eversince I went on leave. I think working permanent night shifts has somehow broken my body clock. Whatever time I go to bed at.... 8pm, 11pm, or midnight, I still would wake up at 5am.

See? Finally! I get to see the "sold" sign outside my front lawn. Talk only.... still no whif of the money yet, so we are still paying mortgage on it! Patience, my dear, patience.... I can't wait the day... albeit for a limited period of time.... we have no more mortgage to pay. Almost 6am now.. probably sneak into the kitchen to get something to eat. Leaving the house at 8.15am later to get to Church. Lots to thank the Big Guy upstairs.

PAcking and Packing

Dear Readers,

Pupil Free Day

Woke up at 4.30am again this morning. Maybe I should stop going to bed so early. I couldn't keep my eyes open after House.. 2 hours of season finale. Maybe this is what happens to people who goes on leave, who works night shifts.
Caitlyn has 2 days off school, so she has a very looooooooong weekend. Will take her shopping after dropping Bryan off to Speech/Kindy. Will spend some quality mother-and-daughter time with her. She's been lovely, very patient with Bryan. She's doing very well in school as well.

Day one of loooooooooong leave

And I woke up at 4.40am! Can't fall asleep anymore... didn't help when Bryan came over at 2am to hop into bed with us. Watching FRIENDS season 10 now, having my cuppa decaf. I look around my office and suddenly I wanna panic cos I really don't know where to start packing! Maybe wrap the china first... Will probably drive around rental properties to have a look at the neighbourhood too... Bryan only has school for less than 2 hrs so there isn't much time to do.
And oh yes, we got word yesterday that the buyer's finances have been approved .. but you know me, talk is cheap... show me the money first!!!

Dearly Beloved

Marlin died. I discovered its body at the bottom of the tank yesterday afternoon while the kids were at the park. So it's just Robin and Dizzy left in the tank now. Maybe 3 WAS a crowd after all. I conducted a simple burial and Caitlyn said the prayer... of course, it was hard for me to explain why God will not "bring Marlin back to life" nor will Marlin resurrect from death. So I told her that the reason why Marlin died was because he was really really old. Anyway, I burried it at the bottom of the chilli plant. I hope Angie doesn't buy another fish over to replace Marlin... for one, Marlin is irreplaceable and second of all.... I am tired of being the only one washing the tank all the time.

What the hell is happening

I have been having some trouble uploading pics. Maybe it's the time of the day...
Doing my 2nd last 2am - 7am today. One more tomorrow morning and I am on looooooooong leave... but knowing myself, I will still jump on board when the company asks for extra help during night duties. I'm still on tenterhooks... at least till the 4/6, I hope, if the buyers don't ask for an extension. After that, it will be days of packing, boxing up, throwing stuff away and GASP! Looking for a rental house to move in. Will probably have a little "going away" party to let the kids have a little closure. There will definitely be tears... MINE!

Self taught!

Caitlyn learnt how to play Elementary Level piano pieces on her own. The piano has been there for years, the books have been there for a year too but she just didn't seem to be interested so I didn't broach the subject anymore... and just suddenly one day she just decided she wanted to learn how to play the piano and I only taught her the Cmajor scale and how her fingers are supposed to be placed on the ivories and she just took it from there! I'll see how long this itch last.
