Bryan the Builder

Bryan has been asking for his blocks a lot recently. Here is a random shot of him playing with his blocks. This one, he calls it his "city".. and no, he doesn't have the habit of lining stuff up as you can see.

My 2 Artists

Ah.......... the terms holidays are upon us. Woke up extra early.... at 6am to be precise. Why so early you might ask... I slept at 8 bloody 45 yesterday night! The earliest in a long time. I just KO-ed. Knackered. For the next 2 weeks, the kids will be home, no school = no need to wake up at 6.30am anymore for the next 2 weeks at least. Blissssssssssssssss................
This is them doing their colouring. I found a lot of colouring pages online, Caitlyn loves to colour for Bryan, his faves are Ratatouille. Spongebob and oh yes, DINOSAURS!
Bryan coloured this on his own, or rather he cakar ayamed the sun, the green scribblings are grass, he explained. Well, he IS Bryan Liew, not Michelangelo Liew.....

G2G... New fad

Here's Bryan "floating on a purple cloud" ala Rainbow from G2G. Caitlyn and Bryan love to act out TV shows. It's kinda fun observing how Bryan uses stuff around the house to achieve maximum 3D effect.
This is him with his "guitar" tucked behind him while he has a drink. Caitlyn refused to allow him to play with her guitar, so Bryan took the fly swatter instead. Don't worry, it's clean, never been used before.
And here he is, serenading to me................... awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...... Picture's a bit blurry because I didn't turn the phone flash on.

Tadpole eggs

It rained... hard last coupla days and I left the laundry thingy outside. So in the morning, there were water droplets nicely decorating all the rungs. Bryan looked at them in awe and suddenly motioned me over and told me there were "tadpole eggs hanging there". Sometimes I marvel the way his mind thinks....

Pleased As Punch

Some nights are not so cold anymore, so I dug out the spring/summer clothes out. Caitlyn has had the chance to wear her Ratatouille jammies before and now she's so happy to wear them. Her school has book week every year and she chose this Pokemon book to read. Here she is with her double happiness!

Seeing the book, Bryan went in to Deoxy pose too! This is him posing like the character on the front cover of the book... see? BTW, you see the pile of clothes behind Caitlyn? My "to-iron" pile. Time to haul my derrier to do some ironing............

Timing So Right!

For me, the kids' term holidays are so aptly timed that I think I am almost "there" with the lack of quality sleep. Need some sleeping-in time. Of course, they'll be with me 24/7 for the next 2 weeks... Have to start planning activities for them. 2 poles-apart- kids and just one of me. There's so much to be done as well at home.... cleaning, ironing, daily cooking.... I wish I had a maid again. Bryan has the most homework, compared to Caitlyn, although he's only in Kindy. The Speech Pathologist gives him 2 new books every 2 weeks to read. So every day, he has the 2 books to read PLUS his Kindy book. Other than that, he needs to work on his fingers dexterity, so I've bought him his favourite BEN 10 soft rugby ball for him to play catch with. I've decided to do OT on him myself and save the money from hiring an OT for him. So far, knock on wood, he doesn't have any emotional or behaviour issues, to I'm keeping the Psych at bay.. they cost an arm, a leg and a spleen.

Any readers who has experience working with, or has a child with ASD, do drop me a line, would like to get to know you and share ideas.

My Brain is Fried!

Had an awesome time yesterday during Pre-start. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically a meeting with the builder to go through every nitty gritty detail of the building plans, choosing from tapware, to basins, toilet bowls to shower roses, benchtops/kitchen tops to kitchen sinks... EVERYTHING.... It was really fun because so far we've bought established, renovated, rented but never built. But rest assured, this is JUST the beginning of a series of headaches. So far we've chosen the colour plans and now the innards. Next will be flooring, painting and lastly electricals. There will sure be many things missing or we realise that we need.... oh yes.. laundry lines, etc... but these will all come in after the house if built. Is it exciting or what? So for now, it's still a flat piece of land in Harrisdale with lots of weeds sprouting on it. Will do a before, during, more of during and after in the blog. Sit tight!

Tomorrow Important Day

Tonight will sleep early so that tomorro I'll be alert and fresh to attend Pre-start. THat would mean Bryan missing his Big Chimp gym class and I have to put him in Occasional Child care for the few hours while we attend the meeting with the builder. Will post some pictures of the stuff we choose for the new house.

Lots of things to do these days. I'm in the filing and throwing stuff away mode. Nesting syndrome?

Dinosaur alive!

From time to time, the kids would ask to play with their blocks. Look what they did! Bryan added details to a T-Rex and Caitlyn made a Stegasaurus. Bryan absolutely loves dinosaurs.

Can't seem to upload Caitlyn's one... Will try tomorrow.
I kept Caitlyn home today cos she had a bit of a runny nose and the

runs.

Mid-Autumn Festival in Perth!

The kids enjoyed the new glow-in-the dark dragon dance Chin Woo Association put up and surprisingly, Bryan wasn't afraid of the drums. All he did was cover his ears and sat on my lap and watched... When the dragon came out, he went "look mummy, just like a dinosaur! We were too full to eat anything from the platter or sausage sizzle there. Luckily our friends CK and LeeLee brought extra lanterns to share, the kids all had fun carrying it around. Angie handed out loads of mooncakes and I think I've got a sugar buzz from that!

Today has been a loooooooooong day.. in the morning, Bryan and I attended our 2nd AA meeting. Straight after that, we had lunch back home and in less than an hour, I had to take Cait to Jungle Gym for a birthday party. I took the opportunity to nip out to check out a nearby kiddy gym as well as a piano store. I tried a digital baby grand and unfortunately, the sound was not to my liking. I think I need to test drive a few more before deciding. Heck I have a year to slowly cari.

I Want A Baby ....................... Grand

I am praying hard that I get my ultimate want... a Baby Grand. I've had uprights, digital, keyboards and now, when I move in to my new home next year, I want a ..... drum roll please..... a Baby Grand. A white one at that. I've been scouring brochures for good deals and at first I thought.. why not a digital grand piano.. but then I'm still a sentimental person at heart. Wait.. I go makan first, then I will post some photos for you all to choose one for me.

Sweeeeet

Derrick brought home a packet of candy with some corporate gifts... only then I realised that the motif on the candy was actually Derrick's company logo! Caitlyn finds it really interesting. I do to... I wonder if I can have candies with my kid's faces on it...

Mutt-B-Gone

Before
Now
Poor Bryan, was torn between being tickled by the buzzer shaver thingy and at the same time, was kinda scared by that thing too. So that poor boy was both crying and laughing at the same time. From Ben 10 to Ah Beng in 15mins. He looked at his own reflection at the dryer and said "I look like Ian" (from Alvin and The Chipmunks).... very true...

Not so colour co-ordinated

Derrick and I met up with a Colour Consultant to colour up the house. I have not seen that many colours within a 2 hour time frame before. I think I came out of the store still in a bit of a daze.... The consultant suggested many colour schemes for us to choose from and we ended choosing the colours above... well, there are more but I ddin't bring the samples home. THe house will have an earthy contemporary look and hopefully, warm feeling to it.
I took a photo of the house plan cos it was just too big for me to scan it. Comments, anyone? Ideas?

Happy Father's Day!

Father's day or not, still had to wake up early at 6.30am to get ready for Mass. After Mass, made plans with the Silais to have Dim Sum lunch at Northbridge Chinese Restaurant. The queue was sooooooooooooooooooo long. But luckily when we arrived, the rest of them were already seated inside, so we just breezed in... lucky us. The place was a tad bit too loud for Bryan... it was too, for me, so you can only imagine,.... the lunch was just so-so.... Then again, it's hard to taste the food while you're constantly talking to the people around you...
Caitlyn made 1 card and a poster for her Papa and Bryan made a tie fridge-magnet-and a photo frame for his Papa. All I got him was a nice card, lunch plans and a steak dinner. Nothing fancy.

SPorts Carnival

Caitlyn won 2 ribbons at her school's carnival. She came in 3rd in both relay and some sticks and bucket race.. Derrick went to see her race during his lunch time. I couldn't go cos Bryan had his first Big Chimp gym class. At first he was quite shy, wouldn't play at the gym area. After some exploration with me, no problems anymore. He didn't quite like the story telling time though... I'll ask the management to see if I can snap some photos to show you all.

Bryan and Derrick attended the Early Bird WA, 1 out of 3 sessions at Subiaco today. Met a few parents with kids with same diagnosis. I will be attending the next 2.

Busy Term 4 Ahead

Term 4 is going to be busy! For one, I signed the kids and I up for some activities at the nearby "gym". For starters, I will be going to Yoga/Pilates classes every Monday. Good thing about that place is that they have child minders there to take care of Bryan while I attend my classes. No extra charge! I enrolled both the kids in Yoga for kids and Bryan in Kids Gym too. So he's going to be one busy bee! Kids' gym starts tomorrow. WIll try and take some pics to show off tomorrow.

Movie Night!

I love comedy... I love slap stick... I picked up SUperhero Movie from Big W today and I want to cuddle up to watch it... then I realise NCIS' on now.. so now, I am off to con't NCIS and then movie time! Bundled the kids off to bed early cos we have to leave early tomoro to meet up with the Colour Coordinator all the way at the North of the River.. THe thought of the massive bumper to bumper jam tomoro ... sigh.... Anyway, enjoy now.. curse tomorrow.
