Baking Again....

Using the broiler to bakeNice rata rata ya?

For the past 14 months staying at the rental house, I made one rule. No baking or anything which involves using the oven. Firstly, I didn't want to dirty it and secondly, I didn't want to spend time cleaning it cos believe me, it can get really messy.

Within a month of moving into the new house, I have baked 2 cakes and a shepherd's pie.... making up for lost time, I guess.
This is my Moist Choco Cake...I like it because it's not so sweet and neither was the icing. Caitlyn was in charge of decorating it HER way. Nah... Dig in!

In order to save money on hiring movers, Derrick hired a ute to move small items to the new house. Here's Caitlyn hitching a ride at the front. It's her first time riding a ute and she was so happy. Even I haven't had the chance to ride in it. Look at all the junk we've accumulated throughout the years. Yes, we threw out quite a fair bit too.

I guess we won't be hiring anything like this is the near future. THe thought of another move really sickens me.

Family Reunion

Alison, May and Yvonne came to Perth for a short holiday and their last stop was to our house for the night. Since it was quite a chilly night, we settled for a steamboat dinner at home. It was lovely. The company was excellent, the soup was perfect and to celebrate Alison's birthday, Derrick took the girls out and got a marble cheesecake and a mud cake for tea. Deeeelish.

Holiday Schmoliday!

Caitlyn practising her kicking lap after lap...
Glenys teaching Bryan how kick the breaststroke

Vain pots
Seeing Caitlyn bundle her hair up after swimming, Bryan wanted to too. Hiao ka puay see.

Whoever who coined the phrase "Stay at home mum" obviously doesn't know what she/he was talking about... we do everything BUT stay at home. The kids have swimming lessons everyday during the holiday and believe me, it's not near home at all. Also, Caitlyn also have extra art classes for the 2 weeks. Honestly, I am tired. I am truly tired.

Joel "The Diva"'s 21st Birthday Bash!

Here's Barb playing grab-ass at the wrong end! Both Barb and I stormed Joel for a peck on the cheek.

"Glitz and glamour" were the theme and I think we packed up enough glitz to light up a runway. I was so thrilled to see my all-time favourite dish at the makan table. The other members of the Sts. John and Paul's youth group were also there. All the dancing, laughter and paparazzi....... man! You can feel the love!

I'd like to thank the Academy...........

I KNOW I am getting old when I couldn't sing to any of the songs played that night.... and no, Lynyrd Skynyrd didn't help either.
