With a few of the silais Everyone looked a million bucks. Although the food was so-so and the place was cramped, the kids behaved surprisingly well, had fun and the adults had a good time catching up with one another.

Wendy and Michael's 10th Wedding Anniversary Part Deux

The 12-course dinner menu was proudly presented on the table. The kids had their own menu too. There were shots of the wedding mass earlier held at Sts. John and Paul, Willetton. Here's one of me standing next to the Electone Organ, which I played for the mass. Will post the Church pictures later after I get my hands on them.... I turned gothic by accident.... you'll see later....

The door gift, one for every family......

It was an engraved digital clock+pen holder.... perfect for my BIG study table (this one is another story to tell...) The kids went crazy with all these. I was quite worried that Bryan wouldn't eat a thing there, so I made a deal with him.... No eat, no orange juice. PERIOD. So he tucked in... with lots of the crispy parts of the deep fried wantans... and promptly put back the meaty parts back into the platter! Daddy had go to the rescue... Caitlyn loves the deep fried popiahs. Finally, his favourite arrived..... in the form of Kou Lou Yook or Sweet and Sour Pork. Oh my ang moh kia. THAT, he ate.... lots.

Our table consists of mainly the silais and their hubbies plus a bub who was too little too join the bigger kids. He was so cute in a white suit and bowtie.

Michael and Wendy's 10th Wedding Anniversary ..... Part 1

Date: 4th October 2009

Venue: Han Palace, Bennet Street, East Perth

Time: 6pm

After ten years of marriage, Michael and Wendy decided to renew their vows in a Catholic Church and celebrated their anniversary with friends and family at a Chinese restaurant. Han Palace is a smallish yet ostentatious restaurant in the city.

The main reception:

Bryan's favourite... the crab tank. Boy he had lots to say about the crabs.The main table. All our cutlery were gilded. Impressive.The wedding cake was made by Wendy's Khai Mah (God-Ma)

A pair of dolls in traditional wedding outfitsMelissa, a dear friend, who flew in all the way from Singapore did all the floral arrangements for Sts. John and Paul and here's the bridal bouquet... a long lasting protea, a native flower right in the middle.

Next Project? Cupcakes!

Angie received this from her work colleagues. They've just collected her keys to her new home and are now having the house painted and floor coverings done, so she asked me to take it home so that she doesn't get paint on it. It's so pretty... so I'm having evil thoughts of using it first! Next to get into the oven... cupcakes! Bryan loves sweet stuff and can wallop a few cupcakes at a sitting. Caitlyn loves decorating it more. Another holiday project for them to do.

Olfactory Deja Vu!

There were so many of us wearing perfume at Wendy and Michael's wedding anniversary dinner last night that at one point, my dear friend Alicia felt that the room was getting stuffier by the minute. Walking past different ladies, their scents took me back to various stages of my growing up life. When I was in nursing school, I loved Giorgio Beverly Hills.

I also adored everything from the Red Door collection... even went on to by the Red Door passport collection. I purposefully didn't buy a Chanel no. 5 merely because of one reason.... too many girls I knew had one... even Levi's jeans... same reason. I'd own a pair of designer jeans... but not a Levi's..... I know..... those were the times.... Lucky for me, I still can fit into those jeans, so they're not really a waste of money.... they were investments! Oh how I console myself....

I gave a lot of my perfumes away before I moved here. Now, all I have on my shelf are Baby Benches(yup!) J&J baby colognes (they're really refreshing on a hot summer's day), a 4711 (for the same reason), a Davidoff's Function(s),a Versace's Red Jeans, given to me by Bryan's GodPa, a Red Door from Audrey, Calvin Klein's Eternity from Alison, an Elizabeth Arden's Provocative Women from Audrey too, and Calvin Klein's Euphoria for men, which I won in an online contest.

Despite all of these, I till love my Red Door. It brings back fond memories. It's classic, elegant, filled with a a mélange of rich, rare orchids and roses that creates a spicy, sweet and sensual aroma. And being a bit of an Ah Lian, I like the bottle with gold and vibrant red tones.
