My Favourite Achar! Malaysian Style!

Mom spent the whole day in the kitchen... washing the vege, scrubbing the vege, cutting them up, cutting up the chilli, blending the chilli, cooking the sauce, pan roasted the peanuts and sesame seeds and voila! Achar! All in all, she spent 9 hours in total, in the kitchen! Poor thing. Oh for the love for her children..... I am so lucky!

Thank you Pat and Irene for the wonderful get-together to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The food was gastronomically delish! Had a lovely time eating and laughing! The Irish folk music and singing was absolutely brilliant! Till next year.......

Don't Be Fooled.....

This was taken last Saturday... I chuckle when I see this picture because firstly, the size of that tiny bowl sort of makes Bryan look like a small boy. Secondly, what you don't know is that he had 3 mountains-full of servings of that Mee Goreng. Going out for meals without packing something familiar for him to eat from home, is always a gamble. We have had meals where he just wouldn't eat anything at the restaurant and by the time we have had our fill, he'd be starving and we'd have to rush home to fix him a sandwich. I'm so glad his food repertoire has increased many fold. He's so much better with coping with different smell combinations now that he's older... but he still wouldn't touch a grain of rice with a barge pole!

I Don't Have To Look Too Far Now...

You know, I didn't know I could get these from the local supermarkets. It's still AUD2.00 each (I think)when they're not on special. But once in a while, we indulge, don't we? With a tray like that, we all get to have our own favourites... unfortunately there's only 2 of each and we all love the cafe and the chocolat.... and vanille and citron......
