On the whole, Derrick didn't manage to buy a thing. It was either, too big, too small, colour's not right, didn't like the brown etc....... so that meant his birthday, all-expense paid shopping trip came to naught.

From My Jungly Front Yard

I used to spend $30 on a bouquet of native flowers as gifts for friends cos they, for some odd reason, don't wilt or rot, instead they just dry out and look the same. I've got bunches of them in the house that have lasted for years and now that my protea bushes are matured, Derrick cut a few of them and decorated the house with them. I've still plenty of them by the roadside, come grab a couple when you drive past.

Tiny powerhaus from Harvey Norman! Love this thing...... problem is it only lasts 15mins on continous high suction.... But boy can it suck! I'm waiting for post summer sales for the Dyson Air Multiplier prices to drop. Looks kinda cool don't you think?

Caitlyn's home with a slight wheeze but lots of cough, Derrick's nose's been running like a tap. Both Bryan and I are fine. This made the news:

Fast-moving fire burning in Armadale

WATER-bombers are fighting an unpredictable, fast-moving fire in Western Australia's Armadale, which has been burning since noon (WST).

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority has issued a "watch and act" alert for Warton Rd, Armadale Rd and Wright Rd in Armadale's Piara Waters estate. The fire started between Warton Rd and Mason Rd about noon today.

FESA said there was a possible threat to lives and homes as the fire was approaching the area and conditions were changing. Officials warned residents to leave or brace themselves to defend their homes.

Armadale Rd is closed from Warton Rd to Nicholson Rd, and Wright Rd is closed from Armadale Rd onwards.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

On A Lazy Weekend

And that's me standing on the edge of my bed, trying to get a bird's eye view of everyone....

Mom flew back to Ipoh and I'm so sad, I miss her already. I bet she's glad to have a breather.. finally! It's  been a long and hot 3 months and don't me started on her allergy flares whenever she's here. I'm truly blessed to have her: she spent the entire day before, cooking up a storm and storing them in the freezer for me.... hehehe..... oh I'm so going to hibernate..... cook's on vacation!

Well, back to work next Wednesday for me. It'll take 6-8weeks for the wound to heal. In the mean time, I still can't abduct my arm fully. Translation: No house-cleaning.... Derrick will have to continue to vacuum and mop the floors... wait, I think I have it in a contract somewhere.....
