Hello Old Friends!

My shower time buddy.

Little trivia: Little Twin Stars are 38 years young this year!.. And they still haven't lost their appeal.

Honestly, I wish I had my long hair back cos now, there's so much work into fixing my hair these days... when I wake up, before I go to work, before I shower etc.... It was just wash and wear when it was long... Sigh... This is the reason why I grew it out in the first place. Dementia must be setting in.

I know, I know...... at least I still have hair..... I should stop complaining..

What Glamour Momma Did At Home During Her Annual Leave....

Ironing... with a capital I. I love ironing anything cloth in this house. Simply love it.... I love ironing towels and then stacking them up really nicely. I love ironing fleecy blankets, tea towels, the face towels, the T-shirts ..... When you slide open my linen and towel cupboard, you can see them....all nicely stacked up into neat rows... enough to give Jon Richardson a woody if he sees them. Anything other than the ....er..... "delicates"... I iron them!

The Old, New Adelene!

I feel different! My head feels lighter now. It will take me another 3 years to grow it out again. Today marks the last day off my 2-week annual leave. I am refreshed! I hope I get the job I applied for... I'm praying hard for it. Many positive changes starting in the new financial year and I hope I'm part of it. Stay tuned!

Banana Sandwich for Brekkie!

For the first time in 8 years, he didn't have his usual bread with Nutella. He woke up one day and decided he wanted toasted bread and banana sandwich... and he made it himself! Oh the ideas he comes up with sometimes.....

Mother's Day Lunch at Old Cathay!

Ahh.... 2 kick-ass nurses the haus!!!!!The Old Cathay has never been safer.....

I like the light fixture

The men.. only the good Lord knows what they were talking about....

I was quite disappointed with the absence of the Hainanese Chicken rice chilli sauce.... I had to ask for it separately. And the black sauce was a little bitter.

After an hour, after the rest of us have finished our lunch, Caitlyn's Wan tan noodles finally arrived....

Lunch was a big disappointment, although the company was wonderful! It's always great to get together with Sista Barbara!
First, they got Bryan's order wrong... We wanted "a plate of sweet and sour pork - no rice" and I stressed the "NO" rice bit and double checked with the waiter... and what did they serve? Sweet and sour pork WITH rice. We sent it back, of course. The wait for the right dish? 40 minutes.

Next was Caitlyn's wan tan noodle soup. First, the dry noodles arrived. We sent it off before it was served. Then 2 plates of chicken rice arrived and we sent it off before they even touched our table. CHICKEN RICE!!!! Sigh.....After their "1-2" minutes, aka AN HOUR, she gets her noodles.

Lastly, the bill... I was charged for 2 Wan tan noodle dishes instead of 1. The interior was very cramped. The table next to ours went table hopping because of that. The décor may have a beautiful nostalgic chic to it but the bad service spoilt it all.

Nope, not going back again..... ever.

How Was YOUR Mother's Day Celebrated?

What could they be!!!!!!!

Nothing like starting Mother's Day with a trip to Church. Yesterday marked my 13th year of being a mom..... more than a decade and I'm still learning..... having said that, I think I'm doing a not-too-shabby job! I have so much more to learn as my kids grow daily. Wanna check out what I got from my kids this year? The presents are lovely!

First up, Bryan's creation. He didn't want to make me one initially, cos his usual Education Support teacher was on sick leave that  particular day and he wasn't too comfortable with another. So his class teacher made him do it instead.... and this is how my son sees me..... That's me, Slendermom (for those who knows what a Slenderman is, you'll get it!) cooking in the kitchen, basin and tap behind me (in red), cooker hood and hob in technicolour on the right. This plate came with instructions.. I can't eat with it... oh yes, I have to bake it first today, to seal the colours in...

It's so hard to get a serious face out of my son!!!!!

These are the other gifts my kids got me from their school's Mother's Day Stalls......

This is a very pretty glass picture frame from Bryan. I'll put in a nice pic when I print one out later.... maybe I'll take one with the kids later.....

My daughter has a sense of humour.....Look!

How true indeed! I laughed when I read it... It's so true, you reckon?

Thank you son, mummy's first stylus bling pen! It's beautiful! The stylus bit actually works on my mobile phone and all the tablets!

Next, a beautiful glass heart book mark. My daughter knows mom is never without her red diary in hand (yes, despite owning a kick-ass mobile phone and a tablet, I still put pen on paper) and they match!

Bling! Silver heart crusted with diamantes!

Decorated by Caitlyn herself. This goes on the altar! I don't have the heart to use it!

That's all I got for this Mother's Day. I am so blessed with such great kids. They bring me so  much joy and laughter. Sure there are days where I want to tear my hair out, but seeing them grow into intelligent, helpful, thoughtful and caring individuals... priceless..! Yes, I still have a lot to do......
