Reruns and ventilation

Have been watching FRIENDS reruns and it's fun! Now at the end of season 4... 6 more to go.
It's so hard looking for a builder. It's time consuming, it's exhausting, it's hot outside and I hate walking under the sun...... but on the bright side, we're getting another builder to sell our house, someone who is our suburb's specialist. Will update the happnenings later.

Caitlyn's new kawans

Our Singaporean friends have finished their AirForce posting stint here and has returned to Singapore. We were in the same marriage prep course, attended each other's weddings, have had gatherings after our kids were born and now, seeing them grown up...... makes me feel damn old! Here they are, posing in the front of the rose bed. That's Caitlyn, Ann and Beth. At the rate our sale of house is going, looks as though we may not even be able to go back to Singapore this year.

Bryan's Vice

Here's Bryan, with his bed-time buddy, he sleeps amongs his 3 crocodiles. It's really funny, he took to croc like crock-lings to water before he started to talk. He couldn't name his external body parts, recognise numbers or colours or shapes but he could rattle on the type of rays and sharks and whales. So now, I buy those books with marine animals in them.. Not easy to find!

What the heck is THAT!

Angie brought this back from Malaysia, for my kids to experiement with. Instructions all in Chinese, so I just agak agak from the picture what to do la. Within 30mins, I see colourful fluffy stuff forming at... well... as above. Then at the end, this..............

Supposed to look like a butterfly wor... but it ended up shedding clumps of fluff. Oh well. There went 1 hr worth of fun..... Word of advice: Not something for kids to play with.. honestly.. I don't what's gonna happen if they accidentally eat it, thinking it's candy floss...

My birthday cake

Mouth watering? Angie brought the cake over on my birthday. Too bad didn't take any photos of the chicken rice. Sigh... one year older and hopefully one year wiser.

Hansem or not?

Managed to hold Bryan down for his haircut. Now, he didn't squirm about, he kept very still but boy did he cry. It's cute, after that, he'll touch his head and finds it fun... he still says "no more hair" occasionally now...

Holey Problem

See how my husband mended the sofa? His colour combination very good hor? I think he was trying to camouflage the black with the brown... NOT! Bryan, ever so curious, would poke his fingers into the hole through the edge of the patch and pull out the wooly insides. Guess it isn't really working, is it?

Fixed my camera and PC problem

They also want to cerai but I managed to council them... anyway, caught this sight from my office window the other day. So beautiful, the orange sky, had to take a few shots. During the day, the blue skies are so "blue" that it looks as though it's like some kids' drawing. Have a last home viewing this evening at 6.30pm. If there is a good offer, that's it, we're letting this go. If not, we'll take it off the market and stay in it while the new house is being built. Sigh. Am getting so tired of this home selling business.

Santa Nino

After a 10hour shift, which stretched from 9pm till 7am this morning. After work, I quickly scoffed down breakfast and got ready for Church. Every Sunday, I give Mary, a 90+ year old resident from the neighbouring Old-age Facility, a lift to Church. Played the keyboard today again for Mass. Today is a special day.... The Archbishop, 2 new Filipino Priests from the Monastery/Redemptorist had a special noon mass to celebrate the anniversary of Santa Nino. It was nerve wrecking, but managed to play well. By the time Mass ended, I hitched a ride back home. So tired man.. but still can't sleep yet... had to haul ass and took the family to see Display homes until now.................. please.... let me sleeppppppppppppzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OK.. now got time, I blog...

You know ah, my birthday started with kids climbing all over me in bed, like any other mornings, running errands, grocery shopping..... The kids gave me a present! Was a matching Frangipani car interior set...
Then suddenly hubby called say he took half day leave, so I had to rush home at noon. He came home with lunch..... Hungry Jack's... and then announced that I had to eat quickly cos I had to leave the house at 1.45pm for a 2pm "appointment".. mind you, he came back at 1+pm leh.. wah, I had to inhale my food!
So at about 1.50pm, hubby drove me to a spa place and left me there.... I got a full body massage... like chak kwat.... invigorating, nevertheless, a facial, manicure and pedicure. Wah... So shiok.... then 2.5hrs later, hubby picked me up and drove home... Caitlyn told me to close my eyes and led me to my office and ORDERED me not to get out.
Then finally, I am LET OUT of my own office, still with eyes closed, Caitlyn led me to the living room... There, I saw balloons hanging from the aircon vents. It was so sweet.
Angie came over at 5pm, actually she already arrived with cake melting in her car while I was on my way home from the spa.
Derrick went out to get our "suprise" dinner which turned out to be KFC.....
All of a sudden, I heard someone at the door and lo and behold, it was Ratna and family with my birthday present! Alvin cooked chicken rice. My favourite.... Wa.. really man, my birthday was REALLY full of surprises... with lots of friends and relatives SMS me too.
Fruit flan followed dinner and we were full and saturated...
IT was a beautiful day.......

So busy

I have been soooooooo busy I tellyu, well, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. The house market has been reeeeeeeealy sluggish and I'm thinking of Plan B or even Plan C. Either I keep the house and build a single-storey new house, with 5 rooms and a study and spa, of course. Or keep this house and build a really cheapo double storey house with no fancy schmancy stuff in to suite our tight budget. Hmmmmmm.
Choices, choices. WE are giving the housing agent another 3 weeks to sell.. If not, we'll take it off the market... Anyone out there want to buy my house!

Hari-hari bertengkar

Past few days ah, hari hari bertengkar. Sampai cincin pun I keluarkan. Serious. Pagi tadi, si suami bersin and buang his tisu and tak cuci tangan. So I remind dia to cuci his tangan la... then you know apa dia jawab? "Sangat leceh mau cuci tangan".. of course in English lah. THen apa dia bikin next? Take 2 keping loti from the plastic... damn disgusting right? Tangan so kotor! WAlau, kalau that 2 keping for dia sendiri hor, I don't give a tahi, but for the anak leh.... not geli lah...
Anyway, one thing led to another, bertengkar la, sampai I jerit kat dia. WAlau. boey tahan man. Sampai I tak nafas... Habis, what can I do? I retreat ke my opit la. Sigh... Entahlah sampai bila I boleh keep my sanity in check. I pun katalah, nak cerai at least I pun happy juga... Sigh

Too much on my plate.......... and loving it

Just reminiscing about the past few years. I just realised that my 15-year stay or "stop-over" seems surreal. When I look at my kids and hubby, they bring me back to earth with a heavy thud.. telling me ... "yep.. you been there". And now, I'm here, in the land of Oz. Where will I be in the next 15 years I wonder?

After arriving here on 1 Aug 05, from a rental to our own home, and now, our house is up on sale, I feel as though I'm living out of a box again. Very unsettling. I have sooooooo many unfinished things I would love to take out of the boxes.... my cross stitching for instance...

The home sale has been very disappointing. Houses flooding the market, interest rates rising every 2 months, not many people want to spend half a million dollars on a house... everybody's looking for a bargain. Agents are asking us to lower the price... I think it's their way of saying nicely "please la.. wake up your ideas"... Once more month... if nothing, i'll sell of the piece of land instead and kiss my double storey house goodbye...

What say you?

My Yindian Son

This photos was taken on Deepavali, Nov 07 by Bryan's carer. He was decked in his traditional Indian baju. Not bad hor. He was the talk of the day! Anyway, he also kind of tan, so many would think he was chap-cheng... until they saw me and Derrick... both cheena...

Bryan's new toy

See that bike with no wheels? It's Bryan's new interactive TV game... supposed to be educational. Bought it for him for Xmas. Unfortunately he only pedals it like a bicycle and refuses to let us plug it to the TV. Sigh.. Luckily Caitlyn is able to give it a go and hopefully he will learn from his sister. He's not very interested in TV games or the PC, unlike the sister who was already mastered the art of booting up the PC and firing up her games over the internet by the time she was 4. Very different, these 2 kids of mine. Can't wait till school begins on Feb 4th.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! So much fun!

Ever played the Nintendo Wii? I think lazy people who wants to play outdoor sports indoors should get one of these. This is closest to the real thing anyone can find on earth now... Really, you literally get off your butt to bowl, play golf and God forbid, be an Evander Holyfield. Pretty worth the $299 for the whole set plus a free Shrek game as well. Kids enjoy it, heck even the adults too... just look!
It was tough getting my hands on that cos it was sold out prior to Xmas... Now the games are going for $40 each... gotta go out and buy buy buy...
