Earth Day

We were advised to turn off all lights from 8-9pm last night to "conserve" energy woh... Unfortunately I had to work, so I had to have the lights on. Daylights saving ends now. Am supposed to turn back the clock an hour at 3am... yeah right..... I wonder how many will turn up at Church an hour late tomorrow... heheh

Put down my foot

Spent yesterday shopping with a Silai friend. Before we even left the house, my phone rang and it was my TL asking me to "help out" for night duty... You know me la... don't know how to bloody say "no" one la... celaka... now working 2am shift. Must learn how to say no...... or jangan jawab telefon.... Problem was it was an unknown number, so I jawab lor.
After last weeks' of so many night duties, of course hubby not happy lor... but what to do...
OK. This is it.. no more Miss Nice Gal.....

FAIL!

Bryan's school nurse called to voice her concerns about Bryan's hearing... I almost laughed out loud when the nurse said "I don't know if Bryan can hear me"... She was relieved when I told her "believe me, Bryan CAN hear you.... I am sure he wasn't listning to you back then". Bryan did very well on one of his eye checks. The nurse made him wear a pair of glasses with a patch and after getting a 6/6 vision for one eye, he freaked out and refused to get the other eye checked. He aced his "name the shapes" test. I reassured the Nurse that I will be taking Bryan to see a Paed on the 1st May to have him sorted out.

Where Did The Day Go?

I just realised Monday came and went just like that... you can't see it but I am actually snapping my fingers just then... anyway, the whold 5 days have passed and the kids go back to school tomorrow. Bryan's looking forward to seeing his "Miss Harding"... Had an old friend come over for lunch yesterday and it was good meeting up again after so many years. I managed to get some sleep before dinner yesterday. My house was the meeting place of 5 families (my silai friends)... with kids in tow! It was great... pot luck and also the company was amazing. Spent my morning today cleaning the house and loos.
You'd be surprised to hear me saying that I get most rest while I am working.. no disturbances, no house work, no need to think of the kids etc....... until the next call comes in......

Happy Easter!

This Bryan came over to our room at 2am and wouldn't go back to his own room! Fed up and bleary eyed, I went to his room and slept there. Woke up early for Easter Mass... and it was our family friend's baptism too. It was a special occasion.. with makan catered for after that too. Yummy. Too bad I'm working tonight.... if not, would have met for post baptism get-together too. Next week, I swear to you, no more working extra hours. I'm sticking to my 2night per week. Too much for my family to handle. Poor them.. I miss them already.

Beat the Heat

It's been a damn hot past few days and the kids love a splash in the tub. Don't worry, Caitlyn is covered.... not only by bubbles. TOnight Derrick has taken the kids to a SiLai's house while I am at home, working my butt off. So sian.. I am missing all the fun.

Good Friday

Had to haul my fat derriere out of bed today to attend Mass. But it's all good, managed to grab 80 winks before that. So far I'm surviving my 10hr duty.. but then again, it's only 1.5hrs into it. The weather today was so hot, I could fry eggs on my patio. The kids had a wonderful time splashing in the tub. Couldn't find my cable to transfer photos to PC.. will do that later.

So tired, Yam Koong.

After a 10hr shift last night, I thought I could settle down for a good night's sleep tonight... until at 6.30pm, head honcho called to say that 2 colleagues take MC... pleaded me to pick up another 10hr shift... aiyo.. mana eh sai? So after much bargaining... I agreed to work from 2am to 7am lor... at least I got about a good 4hr sleep before that... Now my eyelids so heavy man... after work, Bryan starts Happy Language... for that 2.5hrs, I cancelled his whole day day care. Aiyo...
Cham or not.. this week, jialat... working again tomorro (fri), Sat and Sunday night.... anyone care to log on for a chat those few nights to keep me company?

Palm Sunday

I have no idea how I will play the piano for church later after my 10hr shift. One colleague taking sick leave and it's just the 2 of us on duty. Hope I can come home for a good days' rest after Mass.

Fed up

That damn wheel had better start turning upwards quick. I've been getting nothing but bad news all week. So many things on my plate and yet more is piled up. One of these days I am going to get heartburn and just burst from overindulgence. This year doesn't seem to be looking up for me man....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUUUUUU!

Today we celebrated Derrick's 18th (hehe) birthday. After sending the kids to school and day care respectively, I took him for Dim Sum brunch at Farrington Road. It was scrumptious... probably because I was starving by the time I arrived there. Then it was time to get his present... a pair of running shoes... of course, we not pantang la. I bought a sinful Miss Maud for tea .... the kids enjoyed the thick layer of chocolate...
Will add photo tomoro. Now want to go sleep. Weather so cool.. time to go catch some ZZZZZZZZs.

Mission: Drawing Block

I am grabbing therapy by the plums and giving it a go.
I hope the sale really goes through and I can take some time off and take Bryan off day care and place him at other more constructive atmosphere eg playgroups. 2008 has just gone from crazy to exasperation.
Bryan starts Happy Language next week... YAY!!!!!

Scratching my head

Entah apa to beli for suami's harijadi... everything pun dia dah ada.. Ever year it's the same situation.. Worse than going for exams without studying.... mind boggling.
See how tomoro la... all the si lai's will go to the city to jalan jalan. Hope I stumble upon something there...

Going... going.... SOLD!

Home almost sold.. still have to wait for another month or so for the transaction to be completed. Crossing fingers. When all is completed, I will apply for no pay leave and start Bryan's therapy. I don't want to waste any time. REd tape stinks. So fed up with the red tape.

Expensive soup

I have been looking forward to spending lunch time with other ladies from Church. We met at Sizzler's and after paying for my buffet, I received a call from school saying that Caitlyn had an upset tummy. After that, all I had time for was for the soup.... very expensive soup man!
As soon as we arrived home, she had her sandwich and took a 2 hour nap.

Ewwww

Cockroaches I can tahan... Rats I also can tahan... And odd lizard here and there.. I can siam... but frogs are a bloody exeception. Bryan's eyes caught sight of this slimy bugger just stuck on the COlorbond. Just chilling, I guess, from the night breeze but when the morning got hotter, the colorbond got hotter as well and that amphibian seeked solace on the mulch...
See? trying to blend in into the mulch.. I tell you ah, if not for Bryan, I would have screamed bloody murder. I mean, look at it... disgustingly green, just sitting there, plotting to take over the world...

Holiday Tomorro!

Since tomoro holiday, I picked up 5 hrs of work from 10pm-3am.... crazy I know but the pay is just too good to miss! Went to church today. Cooked curry laksa today out of a whim... Angie & Sam came over for lunch. Lazy day today..... Tomoro holiday.. Labour day... probably laze too.

Boh Lee Yew ....

I took an hour and a half to get into the office for a 2hr workshop and travelled another hour and a half back. I had to wake up at 5 in the blardy AM in order to get into the office by 8am. Couldn't sleep much anyway cos I felt as though I was going to oversleep. Anyway, came home, then managed to take an hours' nap... then in the evening, my TL called.... asked if I could do night duty tonight or not... instead of tomorrow night..
Walau eh... 2folds... firstly, I will lose out on 25% of loading... secondly... no sleep before that.. how to tahan! Never mind.... I tahan... good also la.. then tomoro I can go to the new IKEA. Apparently that place very big, very luan one. Never mind.. I'll don my Grosby's and bring along a compass.
Yesterday, home buyer came to view the house the second time. Will make an offer on paper tomorrow morning. Crossing fingers. Kalau boleh jual rumah, aku take no pay leave to makan some angin first man.
