Damn! CAn't upload pics... again

Wanted to upload pic of Cait playing the piano but seem to have some problems with the weblog. Later then. Tendered resignation already. Last 10hr night duty tonight. Next Wed become tai tai........... so I thought.......... until boss emailed back asking me not to resign. Would do whatever they can to retain me i.e. get me wireless Broadband for work, reduce my hours to whatever I want and salary increase. This can only happen here, I tell you. I have never heard of such an employer so generous. So I have a few days to think over it. Decisions decisions...

Bryan's Homemade Educational Stuff

THese are the kinds of stuff I make at home with bits of paperboxes and junk mail. It costs big bucks to buy educational stuff like flash cards, snap cards, picture books etc.. for Bryan, so, I make them. Spent most of my night shifts doing that so it sort of feels as though I was paid to do it! Good eh? Angie's got dibs on them after Bryan graduates from them!

Fruits of My Labour

Here are my mandarin oranges harvest. Very succulent & sweet. Now waiting for my Valencia oranges to ripen. At least I get to taste it before I leave.

Citizenship Ceremony

This is one of the few shots we took during the ceremony. Things got kinda chaotic just before the oath part, so didn't capture my shimmering kebaya. Sigh. What a waste.

Caitlyn's all smiles. She came up on stage with me and took the oath too.

Finally... photos

That's Bryan on his first swimming lesson... he'd fearlessly swim on his own and his teacher, Glynis is wonderful. Last week, he ditched the noodles and just used the empty milk liter bottles as floats! Boy can he kick. I reckon he will swim like a fish in no time.. and the best thing is that... he smiles throughout it!

Beginning Of Shorter shifts.....

Having a taste of waking up at 1.50am for a 2am start till 7am. Don't think I can handle 10hr shifts anymore with 2 kids in 2 different schools with 4 different school times. I seem to be driving around so much. 2 more weeks to go.. hopefully the Chinese couple's got their finances down to pat. I don't think I can endure anymore home opens. Sian man thinking of it.

2 more weeks to go

2 more agonising weeks to go to see if the sale of our house is successful or not. The wait is killing me. Do I start packing? Do I start searching for rental property now? My job depends on an independent phone line from home, so I have to narrow searches to homeowners who will allow me to install a new line for the rental house which I don't think it will be possible because in order to do that, the Telecoms needs to drill holes and run cables and this is only for us who will probably stay there for only 1 year or so. So it's kinda safe to say that I may be forced to either take No-pay-leave after I move out or worse, quit. Will work something out with my HR one of these days.
I know it sounds really odd but I do love my job and don't wish to give it up ...... yet.... maybe until I strike division 1 lottery.... then I'll quit working permanent nights... just work a few hours during the day when the kids are at school!

Builder hunting again...

It's hard work having to look for builders. Very tedious. But it's exciting! We can draw up anything we want! Imagine the endless possibilites! Well, it's going to be an exciting journey for us and I can forsee lots of squabbles ahead too.

Going... going........... again..........

THis is my first time seeing our house's ad in its full glossy splendour. It's been a really hectic day today. It's been very hectic for me since Monday, actually. Poor Bryan has been up and about with me the whole day. Last minute home open at 4.45pm drew no interest. Next home open at 7pm was a couple's second viewing and they offered! And what's greater, we ACCEPTED!!! I know, I know.... it's like the same tune again like the last time, so I hope these people's finances get sorted out soon. Be back soon with more news... hopefully good ones soon!

First day of School!

Day 1 of Bryan's new school. Bryan embraced it..literally. Thank God for that! He absolutely loved it... then again, I have never had any problems plonking him at any new place and leaving him there before... anyway, there were 4 kids in his class with about 4 teachers. He was taught to read! That book was then put into his bag by his teacher so that we can follow up with it at home. School started at 8.35am and after settling him in, I went to the Admin building to submit his paperwork and had tete-a-tete with the Principal. 30mins later, I went back to Bryan's class to say "Goodbye" to him and he greeted me at the door with "This is my new BEST FRIEND!" pointing at Mrs. Bentley. Wa the teachers burst out laughing man.
After school ended, he spotted a shiny... big-ass bike... he said "mummy i want to see bike, pleeeeeeeease" and I took him towards the bike, laying all ground rules "if you want to see, please don't touch... Please.. don't touch ah.... " and he stood just inches from the bike and his face just went "woooow"..... just transfixed... then I told him that we needed to go to get lunch and he asked "can I kiss it mummy?".... aiyo... how to say no... he won't understand why not... So I said... "ok". he leaned forward and kissed the passenger seat!... AIYO! yucks! So dirty... then he said... "ouch.... so hot!"... then I realised ...... that darn bike was under the sun.
I can be sure that he will not kiss another bike again... his memory is dyed in cast.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Here's wishing all Mothers and caregivers a Happy Mother's Day! I have no idea what's happening today. I will finish work in 30mins, then I'm off to Church. There's no Home Open today but will resume for the next 2 weeks. So far, I don't see any presents tucked anywhere for me, so I presume it's going to be an uneventful event. THen again, I have been an emotional wreck in the last 2 days. I am chuffed with the thought of Bryan starting school this MOnday and I've got next week free... YAY!

Finally, help for Bryan

Friday was an emotional day for me...
First we met with Bryan's principal and she explained the situation to us... as long as Bryan stays in a Catholic school, he may get no help at all for his disability. So we had to think of what's best for him and consider him for Education SUpport. Surprisingly, there was a public school, hardly 5mins from home! Following the meeting, I drove there, just to survey the area and met up with the special education principal there and in a heartbeat, I was warmly welcomed and Bryan was accepted! All within 30mins! The kindy only takes in max 6 kids with 1 to 1, ABA. SO it's going to be a 4x half day school for him. Next year, he will be integrated back into mainstream after half day of 1 to 1. I am so happy that finally he gets the help he needs and I no longer fly without a compass!
Adrenaline finally settled and I had new worries... how the hell am I going to juggle his daily different schedules and Caitlyn's schooling in a diferent school and working 10 hour night duties!
If only I get this house sold.... or shall I just sell off the piece of land.... prices of land is so crappy these days...

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

We attended our Citizenship Ceremony yesterday evening. Caitlyn and I went up to the stage to pledge our oath and Bryan was of course, everywhere. Derrick couldn't even keep up with him. It had been a loooooooong day for me. First, I went shopping after sending Bryan to "Happy Language" and then at checkout, realised I didn't have my purse with me. So I had to drive aaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll the way home to get my purse (normally I would just stick it but there was only one diving suite left for Caitlyn and I HAD to have it. Anyway, went to ta pau lunch and they couldn't rush my order in time, so I have to get Bryan and then drive back to Taurus. Lots of driving around. And now, I start work at 3am..... And at 9.30am, Derrick and I have to meet Bryan's school principal. Sigh.... need to slow down. Wanna sleep.

Swimming!

Bryan's first swimming lesson was a success. He took to water like er.... Bryan to pool. Luckily it was a one-to-one lesson cos he would just lunge into pool without a float. I hope he gets better at it.... cos fat floats. Will try to upload his pic soon.

Swimming Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be Bryan's solo one-to-one swimming class. Hope he didn't scream and cry like the last time. But this time, he is actually psyched! Will see if I can take some pics of Blubber boy splashing about tomorrow.
