Caitlyn's 9th Birthday ... Part 3
I made up quite a few games which the kids enjoyed. Man! The screams were defeaning! At one point, it was so noisy that it reduced Caitlyn to tears! It didn't bother Bryan at all... which was surprising! He had his bit of fun wrestling crocs.... Here is little Randall breakdancing...
Not enough blind folds? Try pillow cases....
Lucky last but not least, Barbara @ Ah Bai, you did a great job with the cooking, the photo taking the PR-ing.... you're a gem! Tomorrow steamboat @ my place to celebrate yor recent victory, eh?

Singed!
Within an hour, my lettuces cooked under the 36.5deg heat.... right there in the garden. Poor thing. Don't get me wrong, the veggie patch is shaded from the sun and the bed is also mulched.........but the heat........... oh the heat... my kids had nose bleeds in school and also at nights. What a bother... I am so NOT looking forward to summer.
Bryan thought I looked weird wearing singlets and shorts cos I've been wearing long sleeves and long pants at home for so long that he asked me on Sunday when I was about to go to bed...."mummy, why are you naked?"

Caitlyn's Class' Assembly
Cait doing her bit of reading Storytime!
Holding up their work pieces.
Aimee, leading the Lord's Prayer... with actions and all
At the end of Term 3 last month, Caitlyn had a turn to present a topic about the Solar System. When it comes to reading in front of a crowd, she's confident... BUT when her music teacher told the students they had to perform a little music piece at the end of the term, she cried. Show pony she ain't. Sigh. Why!! Why can't she take after her mom!
Anyway, the story was this: Her music/guitar teacher told her at the end of Term 3 that ALL the music students would have to perform one of their favourite pieces for assembly in Term 4. And what happened to the night before Term 4 started, on the last night of the holidays? She went to bed and started crying. Thinking that she'd have to play in front of the WHOLE school on the first day of Term 4. Couldn't sleep... just cried in bed. And what did her dad do? NOTHING! HELPLESS! Called me up on the phone (I was at choir practice) and asked me for help. Within 5 minutes on the phone with her, all settled, she went to bed, calm and promptly dozed off.
From what I gather, she's afraid of one thing.... being laughed at if she played a wrong note and being nervous. Oh how I wish I could just tell her to pretend that everyone's naked in front of her.... The best option I could come up with was "just imagine them sleeping in front of you".
Any more bright ideas anyone?..........Seriously.....

New Pics
Flowers for you, m'dear?
Here they are, showing off their Aunty
I just found these photos in my hard drive and thought of posting it to show the family how much my kids have grown. Cait will turn 9 this coming Saturday and Bryan will turn 6 next Feb. Big boy that one! Cait's still into Bratz and Barbie. Bry hasn't changed.... it's all crocodiles, dinosaurs, helicopters and Monsters Vs Aliens. He's come a looooooooong way.... reading and doing math now. I'm so glad funding for therapy is extended till he turns 7. So it's daily therapy for him till then!

He Went To Battle Without His Gun.... How Typical
"You lah! Go to battle without your gun....." is my favourite line I tell my hubby every time he forgets something and needed me to get it during the most inopportune moment.
For instance, going into the shower without his towel, climbing all the way up the ladder to drill the wall then realising he hadn't the stuff he needed to do it....
Don't get me wrong, he's ain't no dumb-ass.... he scored mostly high distinctions in every subject all through his uni days. Just like when he sat for his Mas. in I.T. exams, he'd get upset with he got a Distinction and complained to the examiner that he knew his piece of work was worth at least a High Distinction. And to my surprise, they did.. they remarked his paper and gave him a Hi-D. If you asked me, I think they gave it to him just to shut him up!
Anyway, a week ago, he attended a home-furnishings auction. Knowing full well he'd be buying SOMETHING home, he drove his smallish Daihatsu Pyzar to goodness knows where north of the river and bid on a dining table... and got it for $300.00. Not bad, considering the whole set was more than $1.5K. Feeling happy that he finally got a very good deal, he had to queue up to pay... then he realised.... How the hell was he supposed to cart it home........ I mean, LOOK! Finally, he found some people there are paid them $70 to deliver it........ which they did... not only did they deliver the table, they also delivered muddy shoe prints and buckets of sand into the dining room.

Choco Moist Cake
My extra tebal mixed meats & carrot quiche
Nah... my moist choco Cake... nice? Within a day, poof! All gone. Gardening, cooking and baking... very therapeutic.. I think a lot of you all will laugh when I tell you that when I do gardening, I like talking to my plants....... simply because they don't talk back.
