Cait doing her bit of reading Storytime!
Holding up their work pieces.
Aimee, leading the Lord's Prayer... with actions and all
At the end of Term 3 last month, Caitlyn had a turn to present a topic about the Solar System. When it comes to reading in front of a crowd, she's confident... BUT when her music teacher told the students they had to perform a little music piece at the end of the term, she cried. Show pony she ain't. Sigh. Why!! Why can't she take after her mom!
Anyway, the story was this: Her music/guitar teacher told her at the end of Term 3 that ALL the music students would have to perform one of their favourite pieces for assembly in Term 4. And what happened to the night before Term 4 started, on the last night of the holidays? She went to bed and started crying. Thinking that she'd have to play in front of the WHOLE school on the first day of Term 4. Couldn't sleep... just cried in bed. And what did her dad do? NOTHING! HELPLESS! Called me up on the phone (I was at choir practice) and asked me for help. Within 5 minutes on the phone with her, all settled, she went to bed, calm and promptly dozed off.
From what I gather, she's afraid of one thing.... being laughed at if she played a wrong note and being nervous. Oh how I wish I could just tell her to pretend that everyone's naked in front of her.... The best option I could come up with was "just imagine them sleeping in front of you".
Any more bright ideas anyone?..........Seriously.....
