2008 Wishes

Here's wishing you all, my friends, a Happy Prosperous New year. Just finished a 3 hr work shift, will be back tomorrow, on New Year's Day, for a 10hr night duty. Will write more then. See you all next year!

My Budding Artist

Eversince Caitlyn learnt how to pick up a painting brush, she has shown her ability to draw and paint even abstracts (yes, abstracts, at that tender age). I used to blu-tac her art work on the walls in Singapore but I guess I threw them away before we packed up and moved here. I shouldn't have. This peacock is her latest...Actually this one is Velvet art, an Xmas pressie her Lai Yee gave her. It's nothing difficult, to her it's "easy peasy" but she only choose just 4 or 5 colours and managed to create this piece of art. I'll try to korek more for her art work and put it up... but that means I would have to go into the shed... aiyo.. at 44deg heat, that Colorbond shed and well be an oven! Hey! there's a poorman's sauna at the back of my house!.. Man, now I know how the turkey feels....

Finally!

Caitlyn finally learnt how to blow up bubble gum..... despite having a wobbly tooth at the front. Bryan finds it amazing and keeps wanting to pop it... So Caitlyn has had gum in hair, on face, on fingers.. THis is her with make up on... hiau or not?

Jackpot!!!

Took my aunts to Burswood Casino today..... Lucky day for her!
Started the adventure with a 15min hike, desperately searching for the main entrance under the scorching sun...
Finally found it...
Then once inside I was overwhelmed with the rings and dings and the whiffs of clashes of sweat, perfume and BO. It was amazing. A lot of old people there!
My aunty ah... really... all charged up and raring to go went hunting for the 2cents machine.... Then I found one and got my cousin to fetch her... I choped the machine and fed it $5.00 and made my aunt sit and play... within mins, she won $140! Not bad for a first timer!
Steady losses followed till it reached $130 and she claimed her winnings. Not bad for a half hour's worth of fun! I bet a mediocre street walker can't even earn that much in that span of time!
Pleased as punch, we went to the neighbourhood makan place and bought roast duck, roast pork and charsiew for dinner .... all courtesy of Burswood Casino.
I wonder if we can go again tomorrow....

3 more sleeps to Christmas!!!!

Let's see.... 3 more days right? Suami punya pressie pun belum beli... Adik's one also.. well, I wanted to get her her own digital cam cos she borrows mine.. but she says nonid, want to get her own wor, so I'll just chip in and kasi angpau saja la.... And then her matair 's one also belum beli... Entah la... nak beli apa.......

Will end my 10hr shift in exactly 15mins... after that, I have choir practice till 11am, then rush the city with my Yee Mah, Yee cheong and cousin Hoong and Aunty Julie to do some shopping... then back home to get dinner ready and tonight, we go to Burswood to do a bit of gambling..... Music to my aunt's ears...

Will tell you all more about it later.... in the meantime, gotto sharpen my tennis/bowling/boxing/golf skills to take on my Caitlyn on the wii...... That girl is damn good man!

Hiau or not?

That's Caitlyn for you.. all dolled up when she had 2 "BFFs" over. The Aunty la.. bought her a big case of cosmetics... now during the holidays, she likes to put on her make up.. Sigh... Did I say she is 7 going on 20?

Below are her kaki-s. All chilling out at my place one fine day. School's out now, and one by one going for a holiday. Poor us.... stuck here in Perth.....

NICE HOR? All the hardwork finally has paid off.... my neighbour won Best Decorated house 2nd year in a row! They have spent thousands of dollars on the decorations and you can imagine the power bill post X'mas! A bus load of Staff from a local radio station came over for the festivities and I'm stuck at the office working, listening to rude and ungrateful callers, lots of aggressive people roaming the streets this Friday night. Sometimes I feel that I'm not paid enough to take this kind of abuse....

Early Christmas Dinner

Dear ol' Santa visited early this year! Dear ol' Mario and Monica became Santa and Helper on Friday night to entertain the kids. The kids were thrilled although dear Aimee did ask why Santa wasn't "white". Lots of presents exchanged, everyone brought a plate. I brought Emperor's Herbal Chicken and deep fried spring rolls.

The food was great & the company, awesome. Aunts and Uncs coming next week to spend the Xmas holidays at our house. More pictures then!

Checked out my Saturday lotto ticket.... First time in my life, I kena 2 rows in a single ticket. I kena-ed 1 division 4 and 1 division 5 win, meaning, I struck a 4 in a row (out of 6) and another 3+1 supplementary. Total win? Only 80 lousy bucks... Sigh.... another 999920 dollars to go........ Sighhhhhhhhh

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY, AIMEE!
The kids had a blast today at Pioneer Village at Armadale celebrating Aimee's 7th birthday. Fairy themed for the girlies and pirate for the boys. Not surprising, the boys utterly refused to enter the "Fairy story chamber".... The adults had a little gathering with all the kueh muehs and sushi we could handle, thanks to Wendy and Michael, owner of Nagano Sushi at Nedlands.

Bryan, as usual, attacked the fried chicken with gastronomical gusto....... This boy ah, carried a big hamper of wet laundry for me to hang. Not bad eh, for a 3+year old.... I digress...,maybe I should call him "Ah Gu" instead of "ah Boy"...

Like a bullet through my heart!

Some CLC or CCB put a dent on my passenger door. Blardy hell. Only 1 month old, so you say I heart pain or not. Definitely from school one because every morning before I head out, I would give my Lucy a quick scan and yesterday, she was ok. Then went to school and back. When I discovered it, it was in the afternoon when I took the car out to school again to pick ah girl up. On Monday ah, you know where I'll park? I'll park waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over "there" where no one parks... probably a mile away from the drop off zone....

Why isn't shopping appealing to me right now? Let me count thy ways....

CHRISTMAS
is like .......... 2 weeks or so away and I haven't done any shopping... the base of the tree is bare... very different this year.. normally, i would have started shopping from July onwards. This year, don't know why, too busy or too tired to do any shopping. I've been working almost alternate nights, and after work, at 7am, I have to prepare brekkie for the whole family la, get lunch ready for the kids and hubby too. Mondays, I have to play for the school choir till about 9.30am, after that, I'd be zombie-ing home, too dead tired to do any shopping.
OK.. I VOW to start Xmas shopping next week... school holidays starting then, will have Caitlyn for company to shop and shop. Look out world! Will blaze up a credit card trail next week! ... then 55 days later, ventilate when the statement comes a-knockin'.

What la.. working Xmas and 1/1

DOn't know whether to laugh or to cry..... Last year, also same, this year... kena also. Sigh... But then hor, I will be going on annual leave for 6 weeks mid Jan 08. See what happens to the house.. if it walks out the door by 2008, then holiday keras.. if not, squat at home lor.....

Home auction.....NOT!!!!

Stressed like SAI! Yesterday auction.... really ah.... what a waste of time and money... in short, the auction sucked....
SO now our house is in the market... hopefully that way, we can get some SERIOUS buyers.

I just want to curl up and sleep... incidentally, I'm working night duty now.. so I DO want to just curl up and sleep. My poor kids have no clue what's been happening, although Caitlyn is looking forward to living in the new house. I am continuing my prayers for a genuine buyer who is, hopefully an investor.... Please la... what ever God the you prayer to... put in a prayer for me la...

In the mean time, I'll see what the agents have in store for the house.. new ad comes out, I'll post it... who knows what will happen hor?

Jazzy Verdict

OK. So I've had that car which I now call "Lucy".. for about 2 weeks and all I can say is that it's damn shiok to drive man. Very smooth, very quiet, powerful, spacious.. many loong loong la la to put my knick knacks la, kid's water bottles la, the boot so spacious that can put one big esky inside for my cold foods with lots of space to spare.

Bear in mind ah.. my previous car was a Daewoo Matiz which oddly enough is like China's Cherry "QQ", so even a kiddy cart would be more powerful....



Recently I just had some family friends come over for a holiday, seeing them made me miss Singapore and my friends so much.. It was great to see them, seeing their son grow up to be such a smart and chatty individual... Michelle, Alex... you have done a wonderful job! Alex has put his noggin back to full throttle after the holidays and has made a wonderful souvenir of their holiday... check this out!


Nice hor? There you can see Lucy's butt peeking out of the garage. Haven't taken any photos of the car yet cos sister borrowed my digi cam... too lazy to dig out the other digi cam from the drawer... locked them up for home open la... who knows... sticky fingers...

11 days MC!

11 days came and went.... and I'm back at work. Sigh.. where did the time go? So busy some more. .... Oh, I was on MC for losing my voice for talking too much..Dr's first advice was "don't talk... sign or write"... yeah right... as if.... BTW, am still croaking now.. poor patients are having hard time listening to me. ... maybe I should cut an album..... I sound so sultry.

Finally bought the Honda Jazz... Colour like that Helios yellow. Looks as if I have to kiss my Merc goodbye.. Will take photo after my sis returns my digicam...

CHICKEN TREAT!!!!!!

Night of "trick or treat" - ing!... or as 2 year old Nat would shout "CHICKEN TREAT!"
The kids were happy, excited and all revved up to go.
The kids were decked up, all bagged up and rrrrrrrrrready to go...
The parents were all cold, dying for a shower, dreading the cold winds and the looking dark skies.
We were a group of 8 kids with us 5 women tagging along, going to every house in the neighbourhood. Our neigbours were beautiful and very accomodating. THe kids had sweets from here to Wazoo! A street later and many chattering teeth later, the kids were happy, their bags were filled, and it was freezing.
Will post photo soon, after our Si Lai friend uploads it from the cam.
On a more somber note, I kinda realised that this may be our last Halloween from this house, if we move out early next year.
Anyway, decking the house soon with boughs of holly....

HONDA JAZZ Keras

Finally decided to buy the Honda Jazz. Helios Yellow some more.Girly ma... not really la.. it's just in case I can't find car in parking lot, that colour will stand out like a sore thumb. Will trade in my ol' girl also... poor baby only able to fetch $2000. Good la, better than nothing, considering the clutch is dying and the gear box is so unpredictable... trade in now or else if really kaput, I get NUFFING.

KNN woke up voiceless today... really, Laryngitis big time. Can talk, only air come out. Husband happy I cannot nag him today... Kids also escape my yelling at them. Saw Dr.... 5 days MC ah!!!!! Can go SHOPPING ah!!!!! Next working day in 8 days..... WOOHOO!!!!! If I can shout, I shouting already..... then again... if I can shout... tonight got to report for duty... Anyway.... YAHOO!!

Eh.. tell you all secret ah... Hari itu, mata gatal, nampak ruby pendant... Cannot tahan, I belikan.. of course what... must sayang sendiri sometimes mah, tekun kerja....

Honda Jazz or something else?

Sigh.. Looks as though I can kiss my Merc A170 goodbye.... and settle for a Honda Jazz...
Took it for a spin today and fwah! Not bad man! .... Aiya... even beca would be awesome to steer compared to my Daewoo Matiz la...
My old girl, starting to show signs of quitting already... suka suka one of the lights would come on.. and then when send to mechanic... money gone... less than a month, again like that. How man.. this car bleeding me like a cancerous ...... thing.... Better trade it in.

So today, the sales guy, in suit and tie some more, while I was in baggy Tigger T and an oversized sweater... came by with a Honda Jazz for me to test drive. Then drove my car off to be appraised. Hope the ol' girl can fetch a good price lor.

Hubby very pleased with the interior. Mana tahu? Maybe for X'mas, I diam diam belikan dia sebuah kereta macam ini,... tapi lain colour la.. I chose the yellow one... What to do? tukang tilik say I must choose "laughing colours"...
Wait, when I get my car, I take pitcher and show you all ah...

Now must go and clean and scrub the house.. tomoro first home open.. I think of the people coming in with shoes and walking all over my carpet also I tau tia... And THAT is another story.

New House

Getting new house built, I tell you, not easy... before they can dig hole in the ground, already so many arguments with hubby... Anyone interested in seeing picture of new house? Wierdoes

Really ah, this world ah, all sorts of people... wierd and well... not so wierd ones....
For those who don't know, I work permanent night shifts... and you can imagine the type of people I come in contact with.. although only by phone ... and thank God only by phone...
I really have to ventilate this time..... One night ah, some djin kak, har lau,chook sung, called to say that he had his drink spiked.. OK lah, then I con't to examine him lor, drink spiked wor.. big deal OK? can die one you know......
Then that bloody fool said that he felt euphoric.... At then, my Jerk-Radar already picking up senses already....
WHat to do? Have to remain professional what... have to con't to assess him la.. to which he asked "what's your name, where do you live, I feel strange "down there".... can I come to you to let you assess me better?" I tell you ah.. all his words ah, carefully chosen, all double meaning one.
WAlau eh.. if he called me during my PMS, I tell you ah, I would yeem jor hui. I swear I would...
Sometimes I feel I don't get paid enough to take this kind of abuse... Of course, we are allowed to just warn them 3x and then hang up but then I'm thinking.. STILL have to give them chance some more ah... KNN!

Close Shave

Imagine this" It's the school hols, the kids are having fun watching Shrek Live!, the show's over and everyone's hungry, you all walk across to Mackers and then suddenly someone decides to run your kids down while crossing the pedestrian crossing...
Makes your hair stand on ends? No? Shaven haven? Well, nevertheless, you know what I mean...
That chibai woman ... pardon my french.... was sending text messages while driving in the parking lot and instead of braking at the crossing, she ACCELERATED! We were already halfway across it when I realised that the car was racing forward. Instinctively, I pulled Cait's arm back towards me ( you know how kids like to race in front of you...) and the car GRAZED her thigh.
SOme guy shouted at her to stop her car... (he was louder... so he won) and she did... TURNED AROUND AND SMILED AT US!!! That made the man so mad i tell you........
She didn't even bother to get out her bloody car to apologise! I have her car plate number BTW....
I was just thinking: you know how people would just run across the street just to get over to the other side quickly? If we did that, Cait would have been run down for sure.

Cait wasn't hurt, THANK GOD for that... but my legs were jelly! Had to regain composure cos I didn't want to freak her out.

Low Life

Now why would anyone rob a priest.... what the hell is this world turning into? Priest also mm fong kor... Before you all start scratching heads.. literally... my Parish priest was robbed by some scum. He was not hurt, but his most precious possessions were stolen as well as donations for an International Project...

That low-life LC of a thief made my life miserable... I had to cancel all my credit cards (cos I donated via CC and have no idea which one of my 1000 cards i used for it) and had to wait for like forever for them to be replaced ( you know how expeditious Aussies work la)..... 5 days without shopping!!!!! Can die or not you say? Not to say I terrible la but I hope that TL gets what he deserves.....

Working permanent night duties ain't fun.. but what to do? I owe my soul to the mortgage company.. Anyway, I have mastered the art of sleep standing, sleep walking and sleep consulting patients.... Ix-nay the last part......NOT!
